Hello and Welcome to Slim and Healthy Mum!

I’m writing this blog to share with you all I know about wellness. I would like to help you get and maintain a slim and healthy body while enjoying a vibrant life and loving yourself.

There was time in my life when I struggled with weight, wanted to look like a model, but didn’t know what to do to make it work. As I have always been a sensitive person, one day during a lesson in high school I overheard two boys commenting on my arms, which upset me so much that I burst into tears. They weren’t important to me, but that comment has ignited something in me. I realised that unless I took control of my body, I would never feel truly happy in my own skin. I was researching available resources about food and dieting and decided to do everything I could to lose excess weight and get slim. I started with a starvation diet and hard-core exercises. Although, I was able to achieve a good figure for some time, I developed serious health problems, including anorexia and anaemia. I was able to lose weight, but I lost my health with it. Everybody tried to help me, but I didn’t want to listen. I looked terrible, and I was getting worse and worse. The turning point was when, one evening, my mother approached me and said that if I didn’t stop this, I would never have been able to have children. That was hard to listen to, but my mum was right. This is when I understood that starving myself was not an option. Shortly thereafter, I went back to my old eating routines, which resulted in the typical yo-yo effect. The anorexia disappeared, but the anaemia stayed with me longer and didn’t want to go away. What I felt was a mix of disappointment and frustration.

After all these struggles, my husband (my boyfriend at that time) introduce me with a new healthy eating model that was revolutionary to me at the time. Although I had a good base and used to live in a countryside, so we had our own vegetables, fruits, meat and dairy products, I still struggled with my weight. The only way out of my weight issues and health problems was that new way of eating that was both scary and revolutionary at that time. I decided to give it a try and soon saw first results. I didn’t eat fat free products, it wasn’t zero percent fat yoghurts, lean meat, cereals for breakfast and fruits as many dieticians advise you to eat. What I started eating was nutritious food, natural products that human body should be fed on, because we are designed to deliver such foods to our organism. Eating this way has allowed me to take control of my weight as well as health issues. It has also been beneficial during and after my four pregnancies. Thanks to this way of eating I am well-nourished inside out and have never had any stretch marks or saggy stomach. Without excessive exercising I have maintained a slim figure and healthy body, which proves that my way of eating works. It is possible for every mum to have a slim figure and feel attractive. And here on the blog I want to share with you how to do it and show you how easy it is to make delicious food using healthy, nutritious and natural ingredients. This way of eating won’t deprive your body, you won’t be starving, instead you are on the right path leading to loving food, getting slimmer and loving yourself.

It has always been my dream to write to people and advise them. More than anything I want the blog to show how easy and how nourishing food can be, not only for you but also for your family. It isn’t that hard at all to be a busy mum and still look beautiful, take care of yourself and your loved ones. It is possible even with four demanding kids. Take a look at my healthy eating plan, so you can embrace a positive and healthy way of life.
